Many students rely heavily on their cell phones and have been able to perform basic calculations successfully. Once they reach higher level math classes, they are no longer able to perform calculations and add more work for students who must complete complex calculations by hand. Students feel more successful when they can do mathematics on their own. Without adequate resources they become spectators of mathematics instead of doers of mathematics. Having this resource will allow students to see where each calculation comes from and encourage them to continue on their own.
