I am eager to have more materials to use to teach my students how they can make learning interactive and engaging. I am currently limited on the number of manipulatives I have in my own classroom and adding to my small collection will open doors to many more teaching opportunities. My goal is to teach my students that learning should not take place constantly sitting at a desk. I want my students to creatively explore different strategies of teaching that push them to think outside the box. Their goal should always include the thought, "How can I take this simple learning target and create a dynamic learning experience for the students?" I feel that adding manipulatives that cater to many different subjects will assist my students in being successful in this realm of their educational preparation. I understand that the Lego kits are most expensive, but I feel that Legos are one of the best ways to teach students creative ways of implementing STEAM into their every day lessons. I have a strong teaching philosophy of making learning enjoyable and fun and these materials will help me facilitate a classroom where my students can create lessons using these materials to teach in engaging ways.
