These resources will help special education students build their academic skills and be excited to stay organized with their assignments. Stickers to decorate individual planners will help our students to feel the desire to use their planners. Our students are working on using their planners in the classroom and at home to learn the skills of checklists, due dates, prioritizing assignments, and organization. Highlighters, scissors, binders, and folders will also provide them will the resources they need to learn these academic skills as well. Essential oils will be used to improve our sensory room to help our students feel safe and encourage self-regulation through this grounding technique. Planners and academic resources will allow students to improve their academic skills while oils can improve self-grounding and regulation through sensory techniques.
