Think of a time when you've been read to, or have read a story alone that has taken you to another world, that has opened your heart to all the possibilities your future holds. Children deserve a space where they can experience the world at their fingertips through books. They need a space they can feel safe and call their own. Not only that but something that allows them to let their wiggles out while doing so, because first graders are wiggly! My project will do just this, a carpet spot where each child can sit and listen to stories and lessons. A spot that is their own with enough space that their personal bubble can stay intact. And then an individual space where they can read but also wiggle as they do so. A chair that allows bouncing and wiggles (as long as they are respectful) while they explore all the different worlds they can be taken to through books.
