I teach first and second grade fine arts. My students would benefit from materials such as tempera paints, watercolor paints, and paper in order to learn more about the painting process. It is challenging to be able to get supplies and my students will thrive from the various mediums I have selected. Children need art to help them with emotional support. By having materials such as watercolor paints, tempera paints, and paint sticks, my students will learn how to mix primary colors to make secondary colors, create tints and shades of colors, and to create pastel colors. Creating artwork, especially painting, is a way for students to be creative, to be explorative, and to build confidence in themselves. The process of painting is soothing and will help students focus and center their attention on being present in art class. All of us have suffered through the pandemic. Art is a positive outlet that can last a lifetime. I love to teach my students a love and appreciation for art.
