Covid brought a lot of stressors and worries into my students life. Students are coming to me often because of family illness, death of loved ones, parents financial problems, divorce and other stressors at home. Students are also feeling stress from school due to being absent from school due to Covid. A calming corner in our school is one way to help when these stressors and worries get to be to heavy for our young kids. In elementary school, we are teaching all students social and emotional skills in the class room, but having a calming corner for all students to access will allow student to calm down before their emotions cause them to act out.

About my class
