We are implementing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) into our curriculum. As we create learning through STEAM activities, we need supplies for children to build, create, test, and enhance. As the pandemic has kept us isolated and working individually, these STEAM activities help bring children together and give them opportunities to collaborate and learn to work in groups. As they work with building with Legos and magnet sets, they learn how to work through the engineering process. Children will learn how to communicate, build character and increase social skills when they build habitats for the Hex bugs (including batteries). They will also be able to use creativity and share their ideas with others. We learn about penguins, their adaptations and their habitats. The kids can use these toy penguins, the legos and magnet toys to build model habitats for the toy penguins. The headphones will give my students access to better use technology as they listen to books, instructions, and informational videos. Building up children through creative thinking, trial and error and collaboration helps to create life long learners.
