In our classroom, we are learning to apply literacy skills that students are learning. Whiteboards, markers, and erasers will help students as they learn to manipulate words. For example, we enjoy changing phonemes in words to make new words. With the use of whiteboards, markers, and erasers, students will be able to demonstrate in the classroom as well as at home their ability to manipulate words. My students have been enjoying the excitement of learning to read and will be able to apply the decoding skills that they have been practicing with engaging books. When students have books that match the reading level they are at, they will feel successful and will have more confidence in their ability to read.
