Our school serves several hundred music students in orchestra, band, and percussion classes. That's a lot of wear and tear on music stands, and the old stands we have are breaking. Students need good equipment. Not only is it vital to have strong, functioning equipment for their day-to-day work in class, but having a stand that isn't wobbling or falling apart, or sinking down under the simple weight of a music folder (making the stand unusable) shows the student that he/she matters enough to merit good equipment. Simply put, it's good for morale. And essential for a viable music program. We also need a music stand storage cart to keep our new music stands safe.
