We have noticed a decline in attention students are able to give during school hours. This change happened quite dramatically after Covid and all of the shutdowns. My students are just not able to focus and learn the way we used to. We need to provide more flexible seating options for these wiggly students, to help them better concentrate and focus on the learning at hand. The bouncy ball seats will serve as a small group center with the teacher to supervise. The floor squishy seat cushions will provide a wiggly space for our kids to quietly read books during literacy centers while fitting their needs to move without disturbing others. With our new flexible seating options and new math and literacy centers in the project, we will be able to meet the demanding needs of our smallest learners. We will be able to provide engaging math centers that develop their sense of numbers and their fine-motor skills. We will be able to provide additional practice for letters, sound recognition, and proper models, to correctly form and write the letters with our new whiteboards.
