I love teaching about social emotional learning! The importance of students developing a strong set of SEL skills can't be overemphasized for success in both school and life. The materials I am requesting will be used to develop both asynchronous and synchronous lesson plans, supports for individual counseling and small group lessons. Having a library of digital resources dedicated to social emotional learning would be a dream come true! Amazon gift cards have been requested to purchase a variety of digital books that address the diversity in student needs, learnings styles and age ranges at our school. Students will learn and practice skills such as how to self regulate, manage conflicts, identify feelings, cope with challenges, develop a growth mindset and strengthen emotional resiliency, as well as so much more. The iPad will help to present lessons while still allowing students to show on the computer desktop for interaction and discussion. It will also allow for in-person individual counseling or small group lessons at any of the boundary schools within the district and provide the full support of a digital curriculum to support learning expectations regardless of location.
