Students will use this space to work toward academic and future goals. With COVID-19, many students have found themselves behind, or struggling to adjust back to school after being at-home for so long. Having an area that is warm and welcoming where students can get the support they need to make plans toward graduation and get on track is very important. The file cabinet, books for college-bound students, and shelving all help to contribute to this calm, welcoming, and organized environment, where students can feel comfortable. Because we work a lot at looking at schedules, transcripts, school work and other documents, having materials to allow for better organization and efficiency can contribute to a more peaceful environment and better enable me to further help students in a more efficient manner. There is already a lot of stress and anxiety that students are feeling in their adjustment and in getting back on track for graduation and preparing for college, which is why having this positive environment is needed.
