These resources will aid me to provide my students with a rich experience to practice their Spanish and math skills. At the beginning of the year, I found out that some of the students came in with a lack of mathematical understanding in some areas such as adding and subtracting. These are essential skills in people's lives. So, I looked for resources that will help them close the gap regarding their understanding in those math concepts. In addition, I have discovered that fractions are a hard concept to understand for 3rd graders because it is so abstract. Right now, I have limited objects that the students can use to learn about fractions. These manipulatives will make my students more engaged during class and will help them understand more easily what fractions are and how to compare them as this is part of the Utah core standard while sharing their knowledge in the second language that they are learning.
