Students will become artistic directors as we partner with the Saint George Children's Museum to redesign their visual art room. Students will go through design iteration processes as they collaborate to arrive at relevant and exciting ideas that will teach younger kids about visual art and that will visually compel them to want to come into the visual art room at the museum. This project helps students learn how to communicate ideas with each other, consolidate ideas in collaborative efforts, arrive at educational practices for young learners, and be able to work for a client. Much of this work will be designed in the class studio with some on site sessions for painting with the acrylic paint and creating at the children's museum. The benefit for students and the community are huge. Students get hands on learning in relevant art practices that are community driven. The community receives a revitalized space for arts education in the children's museum.
