My Family and Consumer Science students will use the ice cream machines to demonstrate their ability to not only read and follow a recipe, but create their own recipes. They will then use their new product to show entrepreneur skills by naming their ice cream, designing a package, logo and advertisement, deciding a price point and analyzing the profit/loss from their product. This hands-on project will give students a way to build social skills while meeting the state standards for FCS. My math students are all at varying levels and because of school closures during the pandemic, some have fallen behind and need extra support while others need to be given the opportunity to continue developing deep thinking skills. The games I have selected allow students to use critical thinking, spatial reasoning and patterns to solve problems. They will be used in rotations to help provide confidence to some students and at the same time provide a challenge to other students .
