As we all know, COVID has hit our students very hard. Even when they can come to school, there are many things they cannot touch. It would be very helpful to have items in the classroom that they can touch, manipulate, and use to learn. Watching students touch and work with materials in the classroom is so rewarding as a teacher. I love the idea of learning to add and subtract using the Rekeneks. One reason I want to use these is there are not pieces falling on the floor. Each rekenek is all in one piece and the students are able to move the beads back and forth as they add and subtract. I will love watching the students learn and grow as they use the magnetic tiles to build with. When students start with something new like these, they will put a few pieces together, but eventually it will become a masterpiece that they are very proud of. I love listening to them as they tell me all about what they have built and how they built their project. I love the tactile letters for small groups. It will be very beneficial for students to touch and feel the letters as they are learning them Also for small groups, having the magnetic letters and numbers will be such a help in building words and working to make sense out of numbers. Having these items to use in my classroom will be rewarding as I watch my students learn and grow. The rekeneks and the magnetic number tiles will be such a help for my math time. These tools will be helpful in learning their numbers and counting. For the magnetic letter tiles and tactile letters, these will be very helpful in teaching my language arts.
