Teaching in today's world is nearly impossible without technology. It is because of technology that we were able to continue teaching our students during these crazy times. I use technology in so many ways every day in my classroom. Students get excited when class discussions and lessons are interactive, fun and exciting; not just a teacher writing on a white board and talking. Being able to display presentations to students and create interactive lessons keeps my students engaged and wanting to participate and learn. Keeping my lesson structure consistent by using presentations I display each day makes it easy for my students to learn whether we are in the classroom or at home. Currently in order to display these lessons and presentations to my students I am required to be in one location of the classroom. I have to be right next to my computer where I have control over navigating the presentation. Having the luxury of an iPad in our classroom would allow me to be up front while I present instead of sitting at my computer desk. I could also be walking the room and in close proximity of my students as I watch them explore and follow along throughout my lessons. I could be anywhere in the classroom and still have the ability to control what is being displayed on the screen. This tool would also assist with any work that needed to be done remotely from home. In the instance we were in a distance learning situation I would still be able to create and deliver my lesson presentations easily and in a manner they are familiar with. I am also hoping to add a listening station to our literacy centers as well as fill our treasure box with new fun and motivating prizes .
