I am so excited for the materials in my project. Research shows that young students learn best through play and exploring their environment. This is even more important for my at risk learners and those with special needs. Each of these items helps us as teachers to integrate reading and math into each child's high interest activities. We are able practice and teach social skills, turn taking, and executive function skills through these engaging activities. I am very excited to have an book shelf in our dramatic play area. It is one of the most popular areas in the classroom and it will make a difference to incorporate even more reading into the area. The work we do in preschool sets the stage for the rest of a child's learning and progression throughout school.
