The requested resources will help my students continue their social-emotional and academic learning by being used daily to practice skills in reading, writing , math and social-emotional interactions. The interactive lessons that I use in my classroom provide many different ways to learn and experience lessons. For example, our district uses the I-Ready Math curriculum which includes short video lessons and interactive examples that help students visualize the concepts being taught. My classroom projector is not very clear or bright enough to see well even with the lights off and blinds closed. Covid-19 has been very challenging for my students with special needs because each students' needs are based on their individual academic and social-emotional needs which require specialized instruction daily or weekly. Online learning is a huge challenge for my students. Online instruction is extra challenging in part because I rarely use the technology I have due to the overhead projector being incompatible with it. My students require very explicit instructions and need multiple exposures to programs in order to work independently. I also use interactive social stories, images and activities that reinforce social-emotional skills taught daily such as recognizing non-verbal cues in adults and peers, self-management and emotional regulation.
