An end goal of social studies classes should be preparing students to make positive contributions to the world- to do this requires an understanding of events, cultures, and places! This project will help students learn about the world, and have more opportunities to engage in activities geared toward making history come alive. Examples would include being able to use the New York Times Upfront magazine to better connect with the world around them, and use the VR headsets to do virtual field trips. I firmly believe that funding this project will allow students to develop the skills necessary to better prepare to make positive contributions in society. Each of these resources will help students engage more fully with the curriculum, their peers, and the world around them.
