In light of COVID-19, students have had to adjust to a variety of learning environments and expectations. Our kids have been back and forth from home-school to in-school and have shown us how resilient they really are. This has however taken a toll on their social, emotional, and academic interaction skills. Students need more help staying focused as well as feeling included in a school community. The ear protection headphones help students with sensory issues to stay focused and on task. Needs can vary especially for students with special needs. To address this I want them to have sensory fidgets like the wobble seat cushion fidget, desk band, and the hand2mind sensory fidget tubes. What I want to offer to my students is for them to feel welcome, supported, and understood when they come into my classroom. To accomplish that, my classroom must offer a wide variety of tools, such as morning meeting conversation starter chips, and morning meeting ideas from the morning meeting book. Other helpful items are the banker's box to keep books they are currently reading and mesh shelves to organize supplies.
