One of the most wonderful activities we've done for reading class in the past is reading a novel together. It is so fun for the kids to read and discuss together as a class. Most of my students are reluctant readers so I am always searching for interesting books that they will be able to relate to. "Inkling" by Kenneth Opell will be a great book to get us back into our groove of reading together at the beginning of class after being online for a while and then not being able to use physical books. It is a graphic novel with pictures to help with comprehension and the lexile level is 650 which will be challenging but not too difficult for my students. Having a Nintendo Switch in my classroom will be a good way to reward my class with structured fun time. My students work so hard to achieve milestones and make progress in their reading. I love being able to reward them for the hard work they do.
