My students love science and are interested in hands on learning. They love the unit on Magnets and it has always been their favorite unit in science. Every year it has been a struggle to get the materials together to have enough for every student to be able to have hands on experience with magnets. The materials that I am requesting are magnet kits that will let students be able to work together in small groups to experience for themselves the hands on experiences that is so important for each student to be able to have. To have such large classes and the availability of these kits would not only make a difference to my large classes but to my 3rd grade teams large classes as well as we can share these kits throughout the 3rd grade team. The noise canceling headphones are also an important part of my project in that I am having more students each year needing to have these valuable tools to be able to learn in an everyday environment. These are important projects for my students as they will help my students to gain specific skills as they learn to work together with the Magnetic kits and the use of the headphones in learning teamwork, socialization and unity in our classroom.
