These hands-on learning supplies will be used by my high school students to practice their teaching with our preschoolers. After learning about developmentally appropriate practices and how to write a lesson plan, my students have the opportunity to plan and teach activities to the little kids. Using these materials, my students can have a real and meaningful teaching experience demonstrating the early childhood skills they have learned in a memorable way. They learn about the importance of teaching children using hands on activities and these supplies will allow them to do so. The dress up clothes will help them provide dramatic play opportunities, the blocks will help to teach fine motor skills, the floor mats will provide a sensory experience, and the counting activities will help to teach math in a simplified way. Covid-19 prevented my high schoolers from having as many hands-on teaching opportunities. These opportunities allow them to practice the skills they have learned, but also make their learning much more authentic and relatable. My students are better engaged in learning when they are able to apply the things we've learned and work with the preschoolers. With these supplies, they will be able to have a better learning experience as we start to work more with the preschoolers this year!
