Most of my students have little or no engaging resources within their homes. Working with LEGOs in an on-going project as a class will not only help them to develop small muscle control, but also learn social skills as they work in groups. This class is small and relatively close-knit. Although there is a vast variance in grade level, learning level, and maturity, we enjoy working together on projects together. This project will be an ongoing project as we work together to build our Theme Park. We will touch on many different areas of learning, such as math, critical thinking, science, and many others. The aim is to help students understand their strengths and weaknesses and we literally "build" something large and enjoyable.
