I've included several literature and mathematical resources to help my students continue to improve their reading during a pandemic. For example, the library collection of Newberry winning books will help improve my classroom library with engaging books that will help instill students with a love of reading. I've also included a subscription to TIME for Kids. This virtual subscriptions will give students access to current events and informative texts both at home and at school.
Included in my DonorsChoose is an informative writing resource for my students. Informative writing has been very difficult for my students and this resource will give them extra support in this area.
I've also included math manipulatives. This will help students gain exposure to math concepts in various ways. This is especially helpful for students with unique learning needs as it gives them an opportunity to work with concrete objects as they practice abstract mathematical concepts.
Finally, I've included some classroom supplies that we go through quickly. For example, each student uses a whiteboard marker to work on math problems. These markers run out quickly and are expensive tools to replace. Extra markers will help students have the tools they need to do their very best! Clipboards have also been included as it gives students the ability to move around and work on various assignments in different locations.
