Through play, therapists can help children learn more helpful behaviors, understand their emotions, and gain insight about resolving inner conflicts. Through play therapy children also learn self-control, self respect, to express their feelings, problem solving, communication skills, and to modify problem behaviors. Children will learn in play in both group and individual settings with a therapist. In some instances, it is difficult for children to naturally express themselves. With the use of these supplies, this will help me as a therapist learn more about each child's internal struggles and help to get through them.
