We are already somewhat isolated since we live in a rural community, and not very many families have the opportunity to expose their children to many experiences. I feel that our children need to be exposed to many different cultures and places to prepare them to be successful in our world. Covid has restricted access to new experiences even further and I feel that a wide variety of literature will open up their minds and ignite their curiosity to learn more about our varied and beautiful world. The books that I have selected also tie in to our social studies curriculum, and will give them background knowledge that will benefit them greatly as they continue through their education.

About my class
