Reading is an essential skill for everyone. As a special education teacher many of my students need extra supports to become rockstar readers. In my reading classes we focus on building fluency, comprehension, and decoding skills in fun and creative ways. My students love practicing their reading skills when they can do so in fun and unique ways. We practice fluency with songs, games, and activities. We improve our comprehension through reading labs and groups. I need more class sets of books in my room to be able to run reading groups with my students regularly. We work hard to develop a love of reading through activities that don't feel like hard work. My students make great gains during the year in their reading skills. All of my materials will help me run reading groups, practice fluency in fun ways, focus on comprehension skills, and help my students become great life long readers.
