My Side of the Mountain is a classic! Written by Jean Craighead George, this novel takes middle school students on an adventure few will ever actually encounter, but is an opportunity for students to dream about what it would be like to live alone in the wilderness. Students will unplug from technology and follow the main character on his quest for freedom, independence, and adventure. Through Jean Craighead George's storytelling, students are invited to question their need for material things and imagine what they can accomplish using their own wits and power of observation.
