Since the pandemic, my students have had a hard time adjusting back to the classroom and sometimes become overstimulated by all that is going on around them. They need a safe place to go to reset and be able to learn strategies to self-regulate when they become overwhelmed or overstimulated. I'd love to have these supplies to help make my sensory room a more productive place for my students to learn these skills and reset so they can have more success in the classroom. Some of these items will also be used in the classroom so that they can learn to self-regulate while staying in the classroom environment. They can use the light board with the sensory items to reset but they can also use the light board with the manipulative sets to practice their letters, colors, numbers, and shapes using a multisensory approach. The calming ball can be used when students become overstimulated. The pre-writing magnetic board will help them use multiple methods and wikki stix to make progress on their writing skills. The light up timers will help the students to readjust to having structure and have clear expectations set of when it is time for work and when it is time for them to take a break.
