It is proven, over and over, that reading is one of the best tools for students to improve their minds, but reading also has the important role of improving students’ ability to empathize with those around them. Everyone can love to read, they just have to figure out what it is they like reading.A well-rounded classroom library allows students to search for a book that will speak to them: fiction or nonfiction, graphic novel or fantasy series, informational text or novel. Once a student finds out what they like to read, they cannot be stopped. In a post-pandemic world, reading should be considered more important than ever. Students need the connection to themselves and the world around them, and books are one of the best ways to make those connections from a classroom.
