These materials will make a difference in student learning by transporting them (virtually) to a time and place that we are currently speaking about in history. I have found that visuals help students understand and process history better than just reading it in a book. After reading about a certain part of history, students will be able to go there and explore using the google cardboard. This will let them see and "experience" what it was like during that time in history. Experience is an excellent resource and teacher. Another use for the google cardboard would be for virtual field trips. The pandemic has made a field trip nearly impossible for students. Being able to put on a set of VR goggles would, at the very least, give my students a chance to take a field trip.
