Each item will serve a purpose in our "Zen Room". When students are not able to sit in class, they often need time to calm down and reset for a short period of time. Educating students and providing useful strategies to handle how they are feeling can make a lifelong impact on students. Headphones will be provided for students to use with devices that have calming apps on them. Books will be available for students to read and process healthy ways of dealing with the feelings and emotions they are experiencing. With the added stress of COVID-19 on our students we have seen an increase in counselor referrals. Having a space and supplies for students to reset would be invaluable to our counseling department.
