For this grant request, I specifically chose a durable, reusable item for my STEAM class. I will be able to use the Keva Planks classroom bin for many years to come. These Keva planks will allow my students to experiment and explore engineering design and principles on multiple projects throughout the school year. Students will be able to see math in action as they learn about geometric design. In social studies, students can learn about the engineering abilities of ancient cultures by attempting to recreate aqueducts, roadways, and building structures. In language arts, students will be able to design settings from the books that they read. These Keva planks will give my students the materials they need for successful and creative designs. Best of all, students will be able to work on these projects together, collaborating in partnerships and small groups then share their creations with the rest of the class. Building relationships through building structures.
