The chance to read with a buddy is a great way for students to practice and refine their reading skills. The students will love to have more book choices for buddy reading time. More choices equal more excitement and more reading. As the students have more opportunities to read, they will become better readers. Current research shows that it is crucial to have students reading on grade level by third grade. Lots of opportunities to read will help students achieve this milestone. I feel that it is important to provide them with lots of reading materials to choose from to increase their motivation.
