At "CAMP" Kindergarten students start the day learning through play! Students are excited each day to discover what center they get to explore! At our six centers we have: WRITING CENTER, DRAMATIC PLAY CENTER, CAMP READ A-LOT CENTER, STEM-BUILDING CENTER, I-PAD CENTER, and ART CENTER! Students get to rotate through all six centers with several students in a small group! This is an amazing opportunity for students to learn through creative play. Centers are visibly mark and students often skip to their center of the day because they are so excited for this unstructured learning time. At the Writing Center-students are getting the chance to write, color, and draw. At the Dramatic Play Center-students have been pretending to run a Hot Cocoa shop: selling/ordering/making various treats and cocoas that are yummy to eat. (This center rotates every month or so to give students a variety of opportunities involving dramatic play. At the Camp Read A-lot Center-students get to read or be read to, and have a snuggly reading buddy for them to tell about their books. At the Stem Building center-students are given a variety of materials to build and create with manipulatives. I-PAD center they are given the chance to explore many educational apps. Lastly, the Art center is where students get to create with different materials to make art pieces! With the pandemic it has been very clear that students need more time to socialize with their peers and problem solve in a variety of ways. Learning to communicate and share is a huge part of their social emotional health in kindergarten. By supporting my students with the requested resources you would be supporting their ability to create, build, and work with their peers in a positive way.
