I am requesting a collection of books that is literally delight--full of color, adventure and discovery. I see my students taking quick peeks at a Jeff Kinney "Wimpy Kid" book during a pause in our instruction, or students pouring over the cookbooks trying to decide what item they will cook when its their turn to take the book home. Or students talking to one another about their favorite series. I may not be able to take my students on many field trips, but I can give them the world through this collection of books. It features a little bit of everything for everyone to accommodate the many interests and abilities of my third graders -- including two professional books about reading and dyslexia to add to my reading arsenal. I can hardly wait to see the magic take hold for my students!
