My students are suffering from increased anxiety and depression. A small, but impactful way to empower my students in overcoming the challenges they face is letting them learn how they learn best. Alternative seating lets students be comfortable in the classroom so they can learn best and reduce the achievement gaps the pandemic has caused. Some students learn best when standing, so tall desks can help. Some students are anxious and fidgety, so wobble stools help them focus on learning. Sitting still in a desk isn't how many students learn best.
