My students are energized and engaged when doing hands-on projects. The pandemic and extended virtual learning only strengthens our understanding of the value of seeing for yourself, and trying things out first hand. Further, our state standards emphasize the structure and function of cells and how they function in systems. Microscopes are invaluable to the classroom when working to meet these standards. I can hear the "ooh's and ah's" now when students compare and contrast plant and animal cells, and see animal cells from different body systems. What a great new perspective for students!
