As a first year teacher in the middle of a global pandemic I have yet to acquire all the desired materials for my classroom and students. In light of COVID-19 I find it even more important to create a safe space for students where they can learn and grow. Along with basic necessities like hand sanitizer, pencils, and whiteboards, my students could greatly benefit from more flexible seating options in our classroom. I would also like to have resources such as hygiene items and snacks available for my students. Supplemental learning materials and classroom supplies will diversify learning opportunities for students and provide resources to facilitate socio-emotional and academic learning as we navigate the ongoing impact of the pandemic. Our class library is scarce and could really use some additions so my students have access to all different genres and levels of literature. These materials would provide resources for my students as well as aid in developing the classroom environment I desire as a teacher.
