Students frequently come to me because they are upset, overwhelmed, sad, angry, and the list goes on. Therefore, the counseling office should feel safe and comfortable for students. I requested the rug and the chair to make the counseling office more welcoming, and the games, fidget toys, and calming toys bring a sense of relaxation. My goal is to give my students the tools and support they need to cope and manage their own personal life challenges so they can be content and successful in the classroom. Coming into an environment that is more like home and less like the classroom can immediately affect a student's mood and help them feel safe and calm.

About my class
