These materials will help to make my classroom a better learning environment. Having a full bookcase gives the students many more options during their reading time. Giving the students independent reading time is a big priority for me, because I feel that it can greatly improve students ability to learn. I came into my classroom halfway through the year, as a brand new teacher, and was a bit under prepared as far as materials go. I've done my very best to provide the most needed materials, but have definitely been lacking as far as books! It would be such a blessing to have new books for them to enjoy. The students also do book reports, so having more options for them to choose from and use everyday would greatly help some of my students who don't have a lot of options at home, or don't use our library often.
