In eighth grade, we read books in groups. I currently have five titles. I need to add new titles to the options I already have to create more readers. Students are not going to read the books if they struggle to make connections to the text. Students will have the opportunity to select newer books that will, hopefully, appeal to them more than the older titles I have. Many students are nonreaders; I will be able to match kids to books better with new titles. Oftentimes, I do not think they are aware of what is available for them to read.
