Learning through our senses. Many of the items added to the list will help with sensory integration. There are different types of sensory input. Oral stimulation becomes stimulated through the use of z-vibes and, textured chewy tubes and adaptive toothbrushes. Many of these items are specific to the student. Proprioceptive input through the use of pressure vest, weighted vest, crash pads etc. Vestibular input is provided through a swing, trampoline and bikes or anything that encourages movement. Although auditory, gustatory and olfactory are other forms of sensory input, at this time its not necessary. Seating and positioning are other items that my students can benefit from to increase learning and independence within the classroom.
