The 2020 lockdown from COVID-19 continues to negatively impact the mental health of my students. Yoga mats will provide my students with the opportunity to practice mindfulness to reduce anxiety. They will be able to improve their strength and endurance using their yoga mat for yoga, ab workouts, high intensity interval training, and more! Although my focus as a PE teacher is on physical education, the overall health of my students is also something I prioritize. As they exercise on the yoga mats during PE, I hope they recognize how moving their bodies can give them energy, boost their mood, create confidence, and improve their sleep. When the world went on a lockdown, people had to start doing at-home workouts. People continue to exercise in the comfort of their own home because of convenience. The workouts we do on the yoga mats in class will be things my students can easily replicate with no equipment at home. These yoga mats will equip my students with experience to live a physically and mentally healthy lifestyle. When it comes to overall health, movement mat-ters! We cannot wait to use these mats!
