These materials and supplies will give us the tools to experiment and discover the properties and phases of matter. We will be able to experiment with physical change and chemical reactions. Having some of the basic supplies we repeatedly use will alleviate me continually bringing things from home or asking for help from parents. By donating to this project you will give students the opportunity to question the properties of matter, do hands-on experiments, and test their hypotheses. They are so excited to be in class performing experiments, discovering what happens when they mix vinegar and baking soda, making volcanos, and learning that pennies were made with different materials before 1982 and see how they react when emerged in a variety of solutions. My school doesn't have a set of lesson plans for Science or Social Studies and as a new teacher to 5th grade I am constantly looking for something to help engage the students while teaching the expected curriculum. Teachers Pay Teachers is an amazing resource to find lessons and experiments from other teachers with years of experience. As a teacher I love to learn new things and want to instill that in my students. We are all on a journey of discovery we should have a little fun along the way!
