These resources will help my ELD and Special education students lessen the gap between themselves and their typical learning peers. I have chosen high interest, low lexile books to help them feel confident and successful in reading. I plan on using these books as a class shared read. We will focus on reading strategies and vocabulary during these book units. Another way that this will help my students gain reading skills, is through the headphones, by being able to follow along with audio books. It will also allow them to practice their speaking skills to further their communications with others. The timers will help with self guided reading programs where they need to time themselves for one minute at a time. The other items will help with organization in the classroom.
