Our school has purchased a reading program and a math program for us to use with our students. Our class goes to the computer lab for 30 minutes a week. Due to the lack of substitutes and often missing Fridays we don't get to the computer lab regularly and when we do there's not enough time for the students to accomplish a lot. I would like to have a technology station in my classroom to be used during center time where the students can access the computer programs that the school has already purchased. I currently have 5 Chromebooks in my classroom but they are too outdated to access and run these two programs. I would be able to get students on these Chromebooks every day. I believe having these Chromebooks in my classroom will give students the practice and confidence to easily use the reading and math programs that the school has provided. It will also greatly help the students academically and emotionally if and when they are at home quarantined due to Covid and also if we have to go virtual again. Due to the students already having experience in the classroom they will feel more confident in learning at home.
