A Flight Simulator would allow students to put into practice what they have learned in the classroom prior to flying in real airplanes. Every year I have several students earn their private pilot’s license. It is through our program they get the academic knowledge needed to pass the knowledge test, but they don’t get hands-on experience in the classroom. A current simulator would help prepare them and save them money as they would already be familiar with the plane’s cockpit and systems. New simulation technology is not a replacement for actual flying, but it is so realistic it does help students master several aspects of flying without ever leaving the ground. This flight yoke, control panel, rudder pedals, and the computer would allow us to prepare our students much better for when they take the controls or a real airplane.
